How to prepare for IELTS

The IELTS measures the level of English proficiency. The test determines whether you would be able to perform in academia/industry where the language of communication is English. Some organizations may also demand IELTS Scores from Native English Speakers. Even if English is your First Language then too you may need to produce IELTS Band Score when writing an application.Guidance and preparation is important to score on IELTS.

Here are the basic steps to prepare for IELTS

Understand IELTS Test Structure

IELTS has 4 sections, Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The test has two versions; IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. Test format in Listening and Speaking is common for both types of test takers. However, the Reading and Writing format differs. Understand IELTS Test Format

IELTS Results are supplied by the administering authority 13 days after the test day. Results will be available online for 28 days. To check IELTS Results you will need your Registration ID or Passport. The IELTS Score is valid for a period of two years. When you register for IELTS, you can nominate five organizations to whom the administering authority will send your Band Score.

How an actual examination will look like?

IELTS is 2 hours 45 minutes test. Not understanding a test paper may result in poor scoring. So you have a feel of what the IELTS Test looks like, on test day, the Administering Authority has designed the IELTS Sample Test.
